Congratulations to NCUE Language Center Mandarin Learners on Their Admission to Degree Programs

The NCUE Language Center is committed to providing a high-quality Mandarin learning environment, helping students from around the world enhance their language skills and transition into degree programs. This year, the Language Center achieved outstanding results, with four students from Vietnam successfully admitted to degree programs for the 2024 academic year. These students have been accepted into the Department of Chinese Literature, the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Geography, and the Department of Information Management. This remarkable achievement highlights the exceptional learning outcomes of these students and underscores the Language Center’s success in cultivating interdisciplinary international talent.
Under the guidance of the Language Center, these students have demonstrated significant growth, evolving from beginners unfamiliar with Mandarin to confidently engaging in professional discussions in the language. The Language Center offers leveled Mandarin courses, systematically building students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Additionally, the Center creates a comprehensive learning environment by integrating current events and cultural festivals into its curriculum.
For instance, alongside Taiwan’s 2024 presidential election, the Center organized a mock student council election, allowing students to practice their Mandarin skills through campaign speeches, voting, and ballot counting. Similarly, a pre-Lunar New Year activity introduced students to traditional games, red envelope exchanges, and Scratch cards, enabling them to immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture in a festive and interactive atmosphere. These diverse and engaging learning experiences not only enhance language proficiency but also help students naturally adapt to life in Taiwan.
This year’s successful admissions exemplify the Language Center’s teaching excellence and its commitment to students’ holistic development. With its professional and delicate teaching approach, the Center continues to provide diverse learning opportunities that enable students to master Mandarin while integrating seamlessly into Taiwanese culture and society. The Center serves not only as a place for learning Mandarin but also as an essential stepping stone for students to pursue their dreams and shape their futures.
